In 2007, Lamar County Schools joined the National Network of Partnership Schools, a research-based approach to help school systems provide direct support to schools to strengthen their programs of family and community involvement. In FY2011, the Georgia Department of Education adopted National PTA Standards for Family-School Partnerships as the state's model in engaging parents, students, and the community. Please click to view standards.

Did you know that……

  • LCSS has a Parent Involvement Coordinator (PIC)? Her name is  Mrs. Amy Banks.

  • You can access the academic standards (Georgia Standard of Excellence –GSE) that your child needs to know from our website?

  • There is a GSE brochure for math and ELA available to you?

  • There is a parent portal for you to check your child’s grades? It is called Infinite Campus parent portal. We can train you!!!

  • You can schedule a parent conference? Do you know how to do this? Do you know how important it is for you to attend?

  • You can use the Parent Compact to help you during parent conferences & content nights?

  • A “How to Help Your Child” brochure and middle school  “Bell Ringers” handouts are created for you to help your child?

  • Our PIC provide tips and ideas  on how you can  help your child in the core content areas on her monthly newsletter? These are distributed to car riders, district/school waiting areas including the parent resource areas at each school?

  • Learning Support Specialists  assist the PIC in organizing and ensuring that our academic assistance to parents is aligned to each school’s needs?
